Labor Day 2018 was sort of strange. I broke my toe the day before we left (yes – on the same foot on the same metatarsal as I had broken before) and Jamie’s dad had a heart attack shortly before we were going to leave so she was in SLC taking care of him after his heart surgery. We didn’t get to stay in “our” campground by the creek and camped closer to the lake, which meant we could just walk to the lake if we wanted to go in.
We spent a lot of time both days helping Parker build Fort Ross. It will be interesting to see if it is there next year. Jamie did make it up the afternoon of the second day we were all pretty exhausted and the trip was much more laid back than usual. The dog got really sick the second night so we hurriedly packed up on the third morning and headed out. I got my toe x-rayed when I got home, yes there was a long jagged break and it had knocked the hardware a little loose but not enough that it was worth doing anything about it so I didn’t do anything about it.
