Of course I broke my foot before my long-awaited (and paid for) trip to North Carolina. But I didn’t let that stop me. I packed up my trusty scooter and headed out on the trip anyway. BTW a knee scooter and Denver airport is not a good time. I opted to check my scooter as baggage and use a wheelchair on the way back.
Day 1 was spent mostly traveling. We got a good late afternoon chat before everyone headed off to bed.
Day 2 was Mabel’s actual birthday. We went to the trampoline place in the morning then shopping for party provisions after that. After we opened presents with Mabel in mid-afternoon, we spent the evening cooling off with sprinklers.
Day 3 was Mabel’s birthday party. It took all morning to get ready for it, then we had the party where we did NOT feed the turtles french fries (well not many), or throw the aggressive squirrels much food. We were all exhausted by the time we got home.
Day 4 was spent at the water park and touring downtown Apex/Durham North Carolina. Monika and Brent left the kids with me and went out on a date that night. They didn’t know what to do with themselves after they left. I had to text them photos of the kids to show them they were asleep.
Day 5 was the pack the suitcase day. We spent some time building (or trompling) the fairy garden, then we got the vehicle loaded and took the kids to the play place for a couple of hours then a quick lunch before heading out to the airport for the trip home. It all went too fast.
